Features of casting machine base
(1) Good wear resistance and shock absorption. Since the graphite in cast iron is beneficial to lubrication and oil storage, it has good wear resistance. Likewise, gray cast iron is better at absorbing shock than steel due to the presence of graphite.
(2) Good process performance. Since gray cast iron has high carbon content and is close to the eutectic composition, it has a relatively low melting point, good fluidity, and small shrinkage, so it is suitable for casting complex structures or thin-walled castings. In addition, since graphite makes it easy to form chip breakers during cutting, gray cast iron has better machinability than steel.
